O'Charley's on Evansville's east side is hosting a summer-long series giving you the chance to see and hear several up-and-coming songwriters from Nashville and other cities, and we have your chance at a front-row seat.

O'Charley's Summer Songwriter's Cafe

The Summer Songwriter's Cafe was started by O'Charley's back in 2020 as a virtual series since everyone was stuck at home and couldn't go anywhere thanks to the pandemic, and featured artists such as Lee Brice, Tenille Arts, and others. The series has continued post-pandemic at locations around the country and gives the previously mentioned up-and-coming singer/songwriters a chance to perform.

The next featured performance at the Evansville location is set for this Thursday (July 20th, 2023) and was originally set to feature Landon Wall. Unfortunately, Landon fell ill with tonsilitis, so Akron, Ohio native Teddy Robb is stepping in to take his place.

According to his official website, Teddy a career in music never crossed his mind when he was younger. That changed when he heard George Strait's "Troubadour” for the first time. Like many aspiring Country music songwriters, Teddy played his fair share of gigs at bars and honky tonks around Nashville for a few years. In 2018, he signed a record deal and has "accumulated well over 100 million streams, performed on NBC's TODAY Show, had his music written about in the pages of Rolling Stone and Billboard." He's also opened for superstars like Luke Combs, Jordan Davis, Hardy, and more.

10 Unforgettable Artist-Fan Moments From CMA Fest Through the Years

Originally billed as Fan Fair, CMA Fest has always been the place to go for fans hoping to meet their favorite artists one-on-one. Here are 10 unforgettable artist-fan moments that could only happen at CMA Fest.

20 Hit Songs That Another Country Artist Passed On

Some of country's biggest hits almost sounded a lot different, all because some artists passed on tracks that wound up being big singles for others.

Dierks Bentley passed on "Whiskey Lullaby," and the song sat for three years before Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss cut it as a duet. Jason Aldean's "Big Green Tractor" was almost a hit for another well-known male, and Frankie Ballard passed on a song that became a big hit for Blake Shelton. Ballard felt it just "wasn't him."

Here are 20 songs another artist passed on first. In most cases they regret it.
