Veterans Invited to Attend Free Open House Hosted by Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding
Veterans are invited to attend a special open house in honor of Veterans Day. The event, hosted by Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding will include a free lunch provided by Mission BBQ, and all veterans are invited.
Equine Assisted Activities for Veterans
Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding offers Equine Assisted Activities to veterans. This wonderful resource is incredibly beneficial to those who take advantage of the programs offered. All services offered are available at no cost to the veterans who participate.
Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding is a non-profit organization that offers Equine Assisted Activities (EAA) to our local Veterans free of charge. EAA includes equine activities to promote the development of life skills, emotional regulation, wellbeing, and improved psychosocial functioning for veterans suffering from the physical and emotional wounds of war, including PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other mental health challenges. Currently, there are over 13,000 veterans in Vanderburgh county. 1 in 4 of these veterans suffer from PTSD. Our local veterans are an underserved population and we know how important access to mental health services is.
Interacting with horses builds trust and confidence and strengthens emotional bonds with each session.
