University of Evansville Fraternity Spends Weekend Helping Cancer Patients
When my mom was going through her chemo treatments, a bag from Chemo Buddies was delivered to the station. My good friend and former radio personality, Johnny Kincaid, had dropped it off for me to give to my mom. Johnny's wife, Jill, started Chemo Buddies to support and comfort those going through chemotherapy. What started out as a way to honor her sister, turned into something the helps so many people. Because as Chemo Buddies says, No one should ever have to face cancer alone.
I took the bag to my mom, who herself had been an Oncology nurse, and she was brought to tears by the simple act of kindness shown to those who are in need of support and strength. She needed everything in the bag. From the lip balm and mints to the crossword and port pillow, it all meant so much to her. She wished that Chemo Buddies had a chapter in Terre Haute.
We are so lucky to have Chemo Buddies right hear in the Tristate. These fraternity brothers spent their Saturday making sure the no one faces cancer alone. What awesome young men. Thank you, guys.
