Train Strikes Car of Indiana Driver Distracted by Topless Woman

A driver in Indiana was recently arrested following a collision with a train. The cause of the crash? Apparently, booze and his topless girlfriend.

It's safe to say things in LaPorte County, Indiana, are never boring. Just a few weeks ago, we reported on the bizarre story of a woman from LaPorte who stole a car, drove it nude, and crashed it. In this latest event, LaPorte is once again in the spotlight, with nudity, alcohol, and an unexpected twist: a train crash.

Man Blames Topless Girlfriend for Train Crash

According to WSBT, authorities responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a train around 2 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11. The driver was identified as Zachariah Vigil, 27, who claimed he was driving to his girlfriend's house after watching the Super Bowl. He was actually FaceTiming her during the trip, which is when things went south.

Vigil claimed his girlfriend flashed her breasts at him during the video call, which caused him to drive onto the railroad tracks at Orchard Avenue and Second Street in LaPorte. Vigil allegedly tried to push the car off the tracks but was unsuccessful. The car was hit by an oncoming freight train, but no injuries were reported.

LaPorte Man Faces Charges Following Crash

Court documents revealed Vigil's girlfriend was picking him up from the scene just as responding officers arrived. It was later revealed that Vigil had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .273%, which is more than three times the legal limit. He is now facing numerous misdemeanor charges, including three counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OVWI), one count of leaving the scene of a crash, and one count of false informing.
