This Indiana Skeleton is So Big, it Can be Seen From Space
There's a skeleton in Indiana so big, that it puts any other skeleton to shame in a VERY big way.
You see a lot of Halloween decorations throughout the state. One of the biggest and most popular items this time of year are those giant twelve-foot skeletons. You know the ones that I'm talking about, right? The ones that people have in front of their homes that are sometimes taller than the home itself. These skeletons are in such high demand that most people can't find them anywhere because the majority of places that sell them are sold out. We had one of those in our front yard last year until a windstorm came through and blew it over, breaking the skeleton's bones.
Well, there's one skeleton found in Indiana that makes those skeletons look tiny, and its name is very fitting...Funky Bones. This thing is so big that it can actually be seen from satellites in space!
Indiana Skeleton So Big, it Can be Seen From Space
Funky Bones, is a group of 20 fiberglass benches in the shape of bones that together take the form of a giant skeleton. The skeleton measures in at 39 feet wide and 69 feet long. It's located at the Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park in Indianapolis. According to Indy Arts Guide:
The project draws on artist Joep Van Lieshout’s interest in the body, as well as in pre-history and relics. With the bones emerging from the ground like archeologically revealed specimens the work reveals itself progressively upon approach. Funky Bones is designed to be a site for resting, climbing, and picnicking.
As I said, this thing is massive. The cool thing about Funky Bones is that he can be seen on Google Earth. That means that Funky Bones is visible from satellite images from SPACE! Don't believe me? Check it out:

That's pretty cool, right? You can check out this park on Google Earth or in person at 1850 W 38th St, Indianapolis, IN 46228. If you want to know more you can get information by clicking here.
