If you've traveled to Indianapolis over the last 10 years, you've no doubt noticed how much faster the trip is with I-69. After recently opening the stretch between Crane and Bloomington, INDOT has announced where the last leg of I-69 will be located.

According to the Indianapolis Star, INDOT has decided on the Ind. 37 route from Martinsville to I-465 in Indianapolis as the final stretch for the extended interstate. Upon completion of this, it will take 13 minutes off of the travel time from Evansville to Indianapolis.

Construction of this magnitude can take a lot of time (heck, we've seen how long the Lloyd construction can take), so it could be anywhere from 2-7 years before it's complete. Estimates are that the final leg could open anywhere between 2022 and 2027. Until then, you'll just have to endure that extra 13 minutes.
