The Foundry Center for the Arts in Newburgh Adds New Dance Classes (Pre-K thru Adult)
Dance is a wonderful way to exercise, build skills, and have fun at the same time. My daughter started dance class when she was only three. We are two years in and she still really enjoys going every week.
Last fall, my BFF (who has a pre-K daughter too) and I asked one of the dance teachers at The Foundry in Newburgh if she'd be interested in teaching pre-K ballet and tap. We were so excited that Miss Sharon agreed. Each class is 30 minutes of tap and 30 minutes of ballet. Dance teaches them direction following, fine motor skills, movement, and social skills. You haven't lived until you've seen four-year-old girls duke it out over hand-holding! But they absolutely love the class. Every day, my daughter asks if it's dance class day! And, it's a wonderful positive environment at The Foundry.
A wide range of dance classes have always been in the plan for the Foundry, and late spring, summer and fall will see an ever growing emphasis on adding new dance classes and great instructors to lead them.
Our Bust-a-Move and Twinkle Toes classes have been going since last fall and have a great following with both the kiddos and their parents. If you have youngster, these are the best places to get them started with dancing. -The Foundry
