911 gives hope

The Evansville Icemen will be home this Friday and Saturday night at the Ford Center. Saturday night will be Faith night with a post game concert. Saturday night will also feature a Teddy Bear Toss to benefit 911 Gives Hope so, bring a teddy bear or two to throw on the ice. A teddy bear toss is really something to see if you have never seen one.

Our annual toy drive to benefit children spending Christmas in our area hospitals is in the final hours. The drive officially ends at 6pm tonight and that 53-foot semi-trailer is just about full, but we still need help to get it completely full. We need donations of new, unwrapped toys or even cash donations.

The 4th annual 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays toy drive is underway at the Eastside Wal-Mart in the front parking lot. As you can see by the photo on the left, we have a ways to go before that 53-foot semi-trailer is full, but it will be by 6pm on Sunday night. That photo is the first of the drive.

As the Ronald McDonald House of Evansville nears the conclusion of the third year of operations, we hope you will join us and open your hearts to those who need it most from throughout the Tri-State ~ our children and their families!

Guns & Hoses, the charity boxing match between police officers and firefighters for 911 Gives Hope is coming April 21st at the Ford Center. This year's Guns & Hoses will be number five and the series is tied at two championships apiece.

All weekend WKDQ will be out at the eastside Walmart along with 911 Gives Hope collecting toys for local hospital pediatric units. Come by and donate 24/7!! Here are some pics from this morning!!!

Pizza King has brought back the event that was a huge success last year. Strom Fest 2011 is going on now through the end of September to help raise funds for local charities, 911 Gives Hope and the Boys and Girls Club.

Four years ago when Evansville Police officers and Firefighters decided to put on a charity boxing match to benefit local children, 911 Gives Hope and Guns & Hoses were born. After the first Guns & Hoses, 911 Gives Hope was able to distribute about $20,000 to local children's charities.

Saturday Night at Roberts Stadium, a record crowd was on had to see the 4th installment of Guns and Hoses as Police and Firefighters duked it out for 911 Gives Hope which supports a number of children's charities in the Tri-State!
