Since its debut in the summer of 2016, the phenomenon that is Stranger Things has captured the world's attention with its concept of a parallel dimension (better known as "The Upside-Down") that looks eerily similar to our own only it's inhabited by an evil being looking to take over our world (the right-side-up?). Additionally, the show has made superstars out of its stellar cast who were relatively unknown when it premiered six years ago. While it's obviously an interesting and captivating concept for a show and taps into the nostalgia of the 1980s for many of us, I'd argue it wouldn't be nearly as good if it weren't for the cast. One of whom recently announced they've enrolled in classes at a well-known Indiana college.

In somewhat of a life-imitating-art kind of way (in case you don't know, the show takes place in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana), Millie Bobby Brown, who stars as "Eleven," a child (now teenager) with telekinetic powers who plays a central role in the show, announced during an interview with Allure Magazine that she recently enrolled in classes at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana to study Human Services which the Purdue website states is a field for those "interested in working with people to help improve their life circumstances," and "is designed to provide students with basic knowledge in human development and family studies, skills for working with people in service agencies, and program evaluation skills.

Now then, if you're hoping to bump into Millie while she's strolling across campus between classes or hanging out at a tailgate party during an upcoming Boilermaker home football game, I'm about to rain on your parade.

While Millie is a student at Purdue, the classes she's taking are all online giving her the opportunity to take them from wherever she happens to be. Whether that's on set of a film or TV show she's working on or back in her home country of England, or in Atlanta, Georgia where she lives while filming Stranger Things.

But, who knows? Maybe when the time comes to get her diploma she'll make the trip to West Lafayette to walk in the graduation ceremony with her fellow Boilermakers. Stranger things have happened (see what I did there?).
