Scotty McCreery Becomes an Evansville Thunderbolts Fan Before Ford Center Show
Scotty McCreery came to Evansville Thursday night to open for Old Dominion, and left an Evansville Thunderbolts fan.
According to a post on the Evansville Thunderbolts Facebook page Friday morning, the Country star and former American Idol winner liked the look of the team's logo, so they hooked him up with a jersey and puck to take home with him.
McCreery has been open about his love for sports, particularly baseball which he played in high school. In a 2015 interview with Sports Illustrated, he said golf is more his thing these days and if he had the time he'd play every day (I feel you, Scotty). He also said he's a big fan of New England area sports teams like the Boston Red Sox, and (ugh) the New England Patriots. Maybe he'll choose to wear the Thunderbolts jersey over a Patriots jersey every once in a while.
