Love, Matthew Recovery Homes

Love, Matthew Recovery Homes is a relatively new non-profit in the Evansville area.  According to their Facebook page their mission is to guide people on a faith-based path of recovery by nurturing them with love, forgiveness, and accountability.

The organization was founded shortly after the founder's son passed away tragically from an overdose at the age of only 26.  Now she has made it her mission to help others escape the situation her son unfortunately found himself in.

Here is what Laura has to say about Love, Matthew Recovery Homes on their Give Send Go website:

Hi, my name is Laura Maurer. I started Love, Matthew Recovey Homes shortly after my son Matthew died of a fentanyl overdose May 10, 2023. He was just 26 years old. He had a good heart but was so lost. I could tell he had a problem but, I couldn't reach him. Being in recovery myself and working at a residential treatment center as a Recovery Assistant. I saw an enormous need in our community for long term recovery homes here. Right now Indiana is in need of 20,000 beds. We are starting our Non-profit to help anyone who is afflicted with this horrible disease.  Matthew, will live on through the work that we are doing and God willing, we will save lives and free them from the chains of addiction.
