I've been raving to anyone who'll listen about the new movie Nomadland, which just picked up a Best Picture Oscar nomination. I love it and look forward to watching it again.

It's about several people from all over the country who, for a variety of reasons, live out of RVs or vans and travel the country, working here and there.

Well, I think an entire music festival could now be classified as a "nomad," since it is once again on the move.

In 2020, ROMP was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the promise to return in 2021. And return, it will.

The popular festival, presented by the Bluegrass Hall of Fame and Museum, was originally scheduled for June 23-26, but in the interest of giving the COVID-19 vaccine rollout more time to reach as many people as possible, according to the event's website, ROMP will move to late summer.

And I love it. The new dates are September 15th through the 18th and you just KNOW it will be far more comfortable sitting under the stars and enjoy some amazing music in mid-September.

Festival organizers, in accordance with guidelines at state and local levels, as well those from the CDC, consulted regional health officials and then made the adjustments.

Rompfest.com advises those who chose to roll their 2020 tickets over to 2021 to do nothing. Those tickets are fine and will be honored this September.

Additional ticket information and this year's line-up will be released soon.

Stay tuned.
