If you have an interest in kayaking, here is a cheap and easy way to try it out before you go spending money on your own boat and equipment.

Patoka Lake is providing some beginners lessons for would-be kayakers on Saturday, April 21st.

Participants will meet the Patoka Lake interpretive naturalist at the beach at 1pm (Eastern Time). Participants can try several styles of kayaks and paddles, learn about necessary gear, and hear about the best places for paddling on Patoka.

All equipment including life jackets will be provided. The event is open to anyone ages 12 and older. The cost is $5 per person. Space is limited to the first 50 people who register.
