It didn't take long for the Owensboro Air Show to become a massive event that would be missed if we didn't have one. And, in 2022, we didn't have one, and, yes, we missed it.

Congratulations to anyone who can find a place on the Owensboro riverfront to view this exciting event, because that's no easy feat to accomplish. But I find it very gratifying to be able to hear and SEE all of the extraordinary aircraft from anywhere in the city.

The Owensboro Air Show Announces Its 2023 Line-Up

And on the final weekend of summer--September 15th through the 17th--I look forward to being able to do just that. Now, the dates we already knew. Today, however, we have the line-up, and it's as exciting as you would expect it to be.

Owensboro Air Show -- Friday, September 15th, 2023

The weekend will begin as it always does at the Owensboro Regional Airport where guests can get a closer look at some beautiful aircraft and meet the pilots. There will also be mini-nighttime air show.

Owensboro Air Show -- Saturday and Sunday, September 16th-17th, 2023

This is when the big-time hardware takes to the skies for an extraordinary display no one will ever forget. Right now, we don't know the order of the line-up, but you will see performances from the following:

Air Force Thunderbirds

The Aeroshell Aerobatic Team

Wings of Blue - the USAF Parachute Team

The Bill Stein Airshows

Kevin Coleman

The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation

Gregory W. Colyer/Ace Maker Airshows

GhostWriter Airshows

Also, as is typical for the Owensboro Air Show, the same performers will perform both Saturday and Sunday. The start time both days is 1 PM.

We all know what we aren't allowed to bring with us on an airplane but here are 18 things you might be surprised to learn you CAN take on your flight.

See Inside a 1928 Passenger Airplane AND See Owensboro from Way Up in the Sky

I was fortunate enough to be a passenger aboard a 1928 Ford Tri-Motor 5-AT-B Transcontinental Air Transport. We flew all the way around Owensboro.  It was amazing to get a bird's-eye view of the city from inside such a beautiful old aircraft.
