Otters to Play a Doubleheader Today Because of Yesterday’s Rain Out

Yesterday was the Fourth of July, and the Evansville Otters were set to play an early 4pm game against the Schaumburg Boomers. It was just about that time when some pretty heavy storm activity hit the Evansville and surrounding areas - causing the game to be postponed.

The Otters will host Schaumburg for a doubleheader today at Bosse Field beginning at 5:35pm.

The two teams will play two seven inning games before the Otters hit the road for a weekend series in Florence, leading into next week's All-Star break after which the Otters will return home to Bosse for a weekend series with Rockford on 7/13-7/15.

Tonight's doubleheader will feature a Christmas in July theme with fans being admitted free if they bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game to benefit the Evansville Toys for Tots campaign. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also make an appearance tonight along with Evan the Otter - so, bring the whole family.
