Owensboro Municipal Utilities (OMU) announces the boil advisory, in effect since Monday for all of Daviess County, has been lifted for a large majority of customers.

In a statement released on their website Wednesday evening, OMU said the Kentucky Division of Water had given them the green light to lift the advisory in the area marked white on the map below.

For customers in the green shaded area (approximately 300), the advisory remains in effect for the time being.

The Utilities also announced customers in that area will also have their water supply cut off beginning at 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning to allow crews to "install a valve on a large main, which is part of this overall repair and restoration process" with work expected to take approximately seven hours.
