Historic Newburgh, Inc. was all set to celebrate America this Wednesday (July 3rd, 2019) with their annual fireworks show at the Old Lock and Dam park along the riverfront, but Mother Nature has put a little kink in the plans.

The group announced today on Facebook that due to high river levels (and no sign of a significant drop between now and Wednesday night), they have no choice but to postpone the show. The good news is, they're not scrapping it altogether, they're just pushing it back a bit. It will now take place Saturday, August 31st (a.k.a. Labor Day Weekend). Show time, parking, and food vendors will announced for the original date remain the same for the rescheduled night. VIP buttons purchased for Wednesday night will also be honored.
