There's a new reality show that puts people in a pretty sadistic situation.

The show is called "Meat The Family", and the premise is unlike any reality show I have ever seen. This reality show doesn't vote someone off of an island, or give our roses to pretty ladies. No, this show is way deeper than that.

To sum it up, the show features families who are meat eaters. They are tasked to adopt and raise animals for three weeks that might go to slaughter, unless they vow to stop eating meat for good. However, if they don't...they will be forced to eat their pet!

That hits you in the gut, right?!

Before you start looking through your guide on TV to find this show, I should probably mention that it will be airing in Britain, not the United States.

According to The New York Post, the first episodes of "Meat The Family" involve a lamb, pig, chicken, and a calf. At the end of each episode, the family will have to decide if they are going to cook the animal for food, or send it to a sanctuary to live with other rescued livestock.

I'm not sure that I want any part of that show. I'll admit, I am a meat eater. However, I prefer not to meet my meat. Thinking about the concept of the show really makes me question eating a steak, in all honesty...but I'm not a quitter, so I will be firing up my grill tonight.

In all seriousness, that's the whole idea behind the show. The New York Post wrote

Producer Daniela Neumann, of Spun Gold, said her studio’s show is tackling “some really timely themes of ethical eating.”

“Why do we find it acceptable to eat a lamb but we wouldn’t eat our pet dog? Could you go back to meat once you’ve put a name and face to a meal?”

When you put it that way, it kind of makes you stop and think.

So, what about you? If you were on this show, what would you do?
