These Indiana landmarks are on the brink of extinction, and all are too important to lose.

There is a lot of history here in the Hoosier State, and some of that history is in jeopardy. Throughout the years, several historic landmarks have been demolished all over the state. Sadly, there are more of these historic landmarks that remain on the chopping block, unless someone intervenes. That's why every year, the organization, Indiana Landmarks, releases a list of Indiana's most endangered landmarks. This list identifies sites, buildings, and structures in Indiana that are in danger of disappearing due to neglect, lack of funding, new developments, and other challenges. Indiana Landmarks puts out this list each year as a way to advocate for the sites, in hopes that developers, individuals, and organizations will rally together and contribute financially to help these buildings get a new lease on life.

Since Indiana Landmarks launched the Most Endangered list in 1991, 21 of the 172 sites named have been demolished, and 105 have been restored or are no longer facing extinction. Here's to hoping that these ten landmarks are spared so that we don't lose some of our history.
