Mesker Park Zoo

One of my favorite places to spend a sunny afternoon is walking around Mesker Park Zoo, it's truly a gem in our city.  Mesker Park Zoo is constantly growing and adding new things, and it's really fun to see.  It doesn't even seem like the same zoo from my childhood, it's grown so much over the years.  From a totally revamped Creatures of the Night Exhibit to Amazonia, to the penguins exhibit, Mekser Park Zoo continues to grow and flourish on the city's west side. This time of year is a great time to visit the zoo because Mesker Park Zoo has special discounted admission rates for the winter months.

Special Winter Admission Rates

I know for many when we think about visiting the zoo we often think of warm months like spring and summertime. However, fall and winter are also great times to visit our local zoo, and there's still plenty to see and do.  Mesker Park Zoo is open 365 days a year, and from November through February, they offer a winter admission price that's discounted from summer months.

November – February Rates:

Adults: $9.00
Children (age 3-12): $8.00
Children 2 and Under: Free

We still have plenty of gorgeous days ahead of us as we head into the late fall and early winter season so if you want to head out to Evansville's west side to enjoy the zoo you can daily from 9 AM to 4 PM.  And as long as the weather permits they still have daily giraffe and penguin feedings.

Here is the zoo's daily schedule:

• Giraffe Feedings: 11am – 3pm
  (weather permitting) $$
• Tram Tours: 10am – 4:30pm
  (weather permitting) $$
• Keeper Penguin Presentation: 10am and 3pm
• Penguin Feedings: 11am, 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm $$
• Wildlife Carousel: 10am – 4pm $$
• Gift Shop:  9am – 5pm
• Rainforest Grill: 9am – 4pm
