This is a sad day for rock fans across the country.
The Legendary Exit/In
Nashville, Tennessee may be known as the country music capital, but rock n' roll has had a fair share of history in Nashville as well. Many huge names in rock music have played at the Exit/In.
Exit/In has stood at 2208 Elliston Place since 1971, is the anchor of Elliston Place and reason the strip is known as The Rock Block. Exit/In is locally, independently, and family owned and operated. The history and cultural importance cannot be overstated. Take one look at the Wall Of Fame, on the front of the building, to begin understanding the magnitude of the performances that have taken place at the storied club.
One look at their wall of fame and you'll see rock names from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to GWAR and much more. This is definitely a devastating blow to rock fans across the country.

Exit/In is closing Thanksgiving, as our lease ends at the end of the year. It appears that 51 years of local, independent ownershi and operation have come to an end. We're humbled to hose this last run of concerts with friends from many eras gracing our stage again. There have been too many incredible moments to count of the 18 years we've stewarded Exit/In. It's an incredible special place that we are so fotunate to have been a part of. Thank you to everyone who's been part of the extended Exit/In family.
The post goes on to say that they do not know what the future holds for the Exit/In, but the building should remain standing as there is a historic overlay on the building itself.
You can read the full announcement from the Exit/In on Facebook, or see the post below.
As a fan of rock music, who has traveled to Nashville many times to see rock shows, this is definitely a devastating blow to the rock world.
