Meet our adoptable pet of the week from the VHS, Kong!

The Vanderburgh Humane Society (VHS) in Evansville has pets of all shapes and sizes. Or, as Executive Director, Kendall Paul likes to say when she stops by the studio on Thursdays, "all makes and models, and all certified pre-owned." They also have them in all ages, from puppies and kittens that are weeks old to dogs and cats who have been around awhile. So there is an excellent likelihood that the VHS will have a pet that fits your lifestyle! Each week we feature a pet of the week with the VHS, in hopes of helping them find their forever homes. This week is a sweet retriever mix named Kong.

Meet Kong

Kong may have a big strong name, but he's a shy guy at first.  Once he gets to know you that shyness goes away and he's ready to be your best friend.  At only 3 years old, Kong is young enough to be playful and energetic, but old enough that you don't have to deal with that puppy stage.  Here is what the VHS has to say about Kong:

Meet three and a half year old Kong! This loveable black lab mix is a shy guy in new situations. After some back scratches and snackies, however, he warms right up! To be the best version of himself, Kong would benefit from daily walks and a diet in his new home. Basic training with his new human (even though he already knows how to sit and shake) would really help build his confidence!
