Just How High Were Evansville Flood Waters?
Most roads in Evansville and the rest of Tri-State that had been closed to due to high flood waters, are now back open. The water still sits near a lot of these roads, such as Waterworks Road, a heavily traveled "cut-through" from Kentucky to downtown Evansville. I couldn't healp but notice the dark water lines on the telephone poles, while driving by. The water is still very close to the road, but the line on this pole was well over my head. I'm 5'10'' and this was out of reach and even jumping range, so I'd say about 10 feet high. I can't even imagine! My Yukon would be completely covered. It just goes to show, Mother Nature does some crazy stuff, and we are just small beings walking this massive Earth!
