Surplus auctions push all my buttons...the RIGHT ones. As someone who loves treasure hunting at flea markets and consignment stores, this really hits home.

And it's because of the variety. There are always lots of surplus items; that's in the name, so, you know, duh. But it's all the fascinating CONFISCATED property you might run across that you wouldn't otherwise have a shot at purchasing. They're even fun when I don't find anything I want to buy.

Kentucky Dept. of Fish & Wildlife Resources Surplus Auction

But I doubt there will be very many people who come away empty-handed at the KDFWR Spring Surplus Auction on Monday, May 6th. The event will take place at 1 Sportsman's Lane in Frankfort.

The surplus auction is a bi-annual event; there's also one in October. Here's a look at the most recent one:

I'm A Kentuckian, Of Course...

Not all stereotypes are true, but some cannot be denied. I'm a Kentuckian, of course, I'm proud to be from the Bluegrass State.
