I suppose it's weird to have a favorite souvenir that belongs to someone else, but I do. When my sister visited Kings Island on a 1975 church trip, she took $20 with her and had one penny left over. She still has that penny. I also value it for its 50-year inflation record. (By the way, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics inflation calculator, that translates to taking $125.45 with you and returning with six pennies.)

Kings Island Auction

On March 18th, you'll be able to come away with more than just a handful of pennies. And you won't even have to visit the park.

Kings Island has announced an online auction, during which enthusiasts can bid on props and items from its Boo Blasters on Boo Hill attraction. Debuting in 2010 as a replacement for Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle, Boo Blasters enjoyed a 15-year run until its closure last September.

Now, you can have a piece of that history. And you know, after looking at the items, I'm envisioning spectacular home Halloween displays this fall. Nearly everything you'll see here is up for bid...

And not just cool props from within the ride. You can also bid on signs like "Exit Only," "Authorized Personnel Only," and "No Beverages on This Attraction." Hardcore fans will likely scoop those up.

The Boo Blasters closure makes room for Kings Island's new attraction, Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare."

The online auction will begin on March 18th and wrap up on March 27th.
