This year's BBQ & Barrels Festival in downtown Owensboro is already shaping up to be one of the best ever. Earlier this year, in anticipation of the annual event, the City of Owensboro teamed up with the Owensboro Convention Center to announce a very special concert event.

This year marks the 10th anniversary season of the Owensboro Convention Center, which has a long history of country music events. In fact, the very first concert at that facility was a Sara Evans concert on January 31st, 2014. Now, ten years later, another country star is coming to town for a huge concert. Only this time, it won't be a ticketed event inside.

Chris Janson is coming to Owensboro for a FREE concert outside. That concert will close out the 2024 BBQ & Barrels Festival on Saturday, May 11th.

Now, there's even more exciting news about BBQ & Barrels. The City of Owensboro just announced that, for the first time, it will host a 50/50 half pot raffle. Inspired by the wild success and popularity of a similar raffle at the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival in Evansville, Owensboro's BBQ & Barrels plans to get in on that action.

City of Owensboro Special Events Director Tim Ross says tickets will go on sale online Monday, May 1st at BBQandBarrels.com. Plus, during BBQ & Barrels, those tickets can be purchased on site. There will multiple ticket booths at the festival May 10th and 11th.

Tickets sales will end at 7:30pm CDT on Saturday, May 11th. The winning number will ultimately be announced on stage right before Chris Janson's concert.
