This Immersive TN Light Spectacular Is a Can’t-Miss For the Holidays
Who's headed to east Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains during the holiday season? Is your itinerary full to bursting? I wouldn't be a bit surprised if that last question was an understatement.
As we all know, that whole region does not stop adding attractions, meaning careful planning is the order of the day so visitors can maximize their exciting experiences. Honestly, I wouldn't know where to begin. (Well, I guess I do...PANCAKES; they're seemingly every three feet in Gatlinburg.) But after that? Well, read on.
Astra Lumina at Gatlinburg's Anakeesta
I referred to this attraction as a "holiday light spectacular," and I plan to stick with the moniker even though it isn't exactly SPECIFIC to the holiday season. The thing is, however, it IS the holiday season and this IS a spectacular and mind-boggling display of lights. So why not?
Yes, it is very mystical. Yes, it leans heavily into astronomy. But ALSO yes, it is the perfect destination (among many in Gatlinburg) during the Christmas season. I mean, stars are quite a popular motif this time of year, so let's lean into it at Astra Lumina.
Christmas at Anakeesta
One of the Smoky Mountain region's newest theme parks, Anakeesta--where you will find Astra Lumina--introduced Enchanted Christmas in 2023 to instant success. That's right, it's another can't-miss attraction in Gatlinburg.
Astra Lumina--also with locations in Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York City--is open seven days a week from 9 AM until 11 PM. And while is doesn't close for the season, hours in January and February may be limited.
