Iowa is known as an agricultural state. We have corn, beans, hogs, cattle, and more hogs.

The folks at Stacker put the list below together using data from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Project FeederWatch.

How The Rankins Were Created

  • The rankings are based on what percentage of bird feeders each species visited between February 18 - March 3.

  • If two birds were seen at the same percentage of sites, they broke ties by average group size.

  • Data came from 60 feeder count sites in Iowa; states with fewer than 10 sites weren’t included for each species.
