You'll never what you'll see at an airport in Illinois but this has to be one of the most strangest things in the United States.

O'Hare Is Home To Hundreds Of Beehives

I've been to airports including the major ones in Illinois, many times in my life. When I'm in Chicago at O'Hare International Airport, it's usually way too busy or I'm in a huge rush so I really don't have a lot of time or energy to mess around and sightsee.

It's funny because I've never thought of an airport as a fun place to hang out or somewhere to check out any cool attractions. Apparently, I've been missing out in Chicago, Illinois, and across the country.

I just read that many airports do have some great attractions to check out like special stores, unique restaurants, fun things to do, and even beautiful works of art and decor. It makes the environment much better for people stuck there for several hours.

Maybe a travel company should start tours inside of airports. That would be really fascinating. O'Hare Airport in Chicago has a very interesting under-the-radar attraction. On the grounds, there are a couple of hundred beehives that are home to over 1 million bees.

Here's the cool thing. The bees have created thousands of pounds of honey. The staff at O'Hare collects honey from the hives. They package it and sell the product in Hudson Newsstands throughout the airport. I never knew that. How cool is that?

There's definitely plenty of empty land throughout the grounds of O'Hare airport. I wonder if you can get up close and person. I'm thinking not.
