Big news for pizza lovers (so, basically everyone): Yelp just released its first-ever ranking of America’s top 25 pizza chains. This wasn’t just a popularity contest; only chains with 60 or more locations qualified, and the results came straight from customer reviews. Translation: real people, real pies, real opinions. And when the votes were tallied, an Illinois favorite baked its way right to the top.

America’s Best Pizza Chain Comes From Illinois

The No. 1 spot didn’t go to a flashy newcomer or a nationwide juggernaut. Instead, it went to a pizza chain that’s been serving up gooey, cheesy, buttery-crusted satisfaction for decades, born right in the Chicago suburbs and still staying true to its roots.

Yep, it’s official: Lou Malnati’s is America’s best pizza chain, according to Yelp. Starting from a single location in Lincolnwood back in 1971, Lou’s has grown to more than 70 restaurants nationwide.

Other Illinois Pizza Favorites That Made the Cut

Illinois wasn’t done showing off. Rosati’s Pizza grabbed the No. 9 spot, giving Chicagoans (and us Stateliners) even more bragging rights. And while national names like Domino’s, Little Caesars, California Pizza Kitchen, and Jet’s Pizza also appeared on the list, none could top the hometown hero.

Rockford’s Nearest Slice of Fame

So, if you’re craving award-winning deep dish, you don’t have to head into Chicago at all. Rockford’s own Lou Malnati’s is right here at 6240 Mulford Village Drive. Consider this your official excuse to ditch the frozen pizza tonight.
