Free Indoor Trick-or-Treating Returns to Evansville for Walk Thru Boo

With Halloween almost here, you've probably got little ghosts, goblins, witches, or superheroes at home. That means it's time to start planning where they're going to show off those costumes and collect some candy!

Fortunately, one of Evansville's favorite family-friendly Halloween traditions is returning for 2026, and we are proud to once again be media partners.

Indoor Trick-or-Treating in Evansville

Let's face it. October weather in Southern Indiana can be a little unpredictable. One day we're enjoying gorgeous fall temperatures, the next it feels more like summer, and by next week, we may be digging out our winter coats.

That's part of what makes indoor trick-or-treating so appealing.

Walk Thru Boo gives families an opportunity to celebrate Halloween without having to worry about what Mother Nature has planned.

It's also another excuse for the kids to wear those Halloween costumes before the big night. And considering how much some of those costumes cost, I say get as much use out of them as possible!

When Is Walk Thru Boo 2026?

Hosted by local nonprofit Voices Inc., the annual Walk Thru Boo returns Saturday, October 24, 2026, 1 - 3 p.m. at Washington Square Mall.

Walk Thru Boo brings together local organizations and community volunteers who hand out candy and treats to children as they make their way through the event.

Whether your little one is dressing up as their favorite movie character, a classic Halloween monster, or something entirely unexpected, mark your calendar for an afternoon of Halloween fun.

Best of all, admission is completely free!

It's a fun opportunity for kids to fill their candy buckets while enjoying a Halloween tradition that brings the Evansville community together.

Supporting an Important Local Mission

Walk Thru Boo is hosted by Voices, Inc., an Evansville nonprofit that advocates for the rights and quality of care of Vanderburgh County residents living in long-term care facilities.

The organization helps address resident concerns, protect their rights, and provide education about long-term care issues.

You can learn more about its mission at Voices Inc.

So grab the costumes, bring the candy buckets, and we'll see you at the Walk Thru Boo!
