We're going to the dogs with the Lux Motors Car Show benefiting Daisy's New Beginnings, and you're invited!

The Lux Motors Car Show is bringing cars, food, and plenty of four-legged friends to Friedman Park in Newburgh on Saturday, September 5, all while raising money for a great cause.

The proceeds from the event benefit Daisy's New Beginnings, an Evansville-area non-profit that funds life-saving veterinary care for rescue dogs in need.

Bring Your Ride or Just Come Check Out the Cars

The Lux Motors Car Show gets underway at 9 a.m., with vehicle registration and the show beginning at the same time. Judging starts at 11:30 a.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 1 p.m.

Want to put your own vehicle in the show? Online registration is $15 through August 25. After that, drivers can register for $25 the day of the event.

The first 100 registered vehicles will also receive a dash plaque and Lux Motors T-shirt.

Plenty of Trophies and Cash Prizes Are Up for Grabs

Awards will recognize everything from exotic and import vehicles to classics, trucks, paint, and engines.

Several specialty awards also come with cash prizes, including Best of Show and the Lux Motors Choice Award. Other specialty honors include Daisy's New Beginnings Trophy, Kat Mykals Hot Rod Legacy Award, Popular Vote Trophy, and Club Participation Trophy.

There's More Than Cars at Friedman Park

You don't have to enter a vehicle, or even be a serious car person, to enjoy the day.

The event will also feature food trucks, car vendors, a half-pot raffle, hourly door prizes, and a dog adoption event.

Not only will there be rescue animals waiting for forever homes, but Daisy's New Beginnings will be sponsoring all of the day's adoption fees! That means you might head to Friedman Park to admire classic cars and leave having met your new best friend.

Most importantly, the day helps Daisy's New Beginnings continue helping area animal rescues provide emergency veterinary care to animals in need.

The Lux Motors Car Show benefiting Daisy's New Beginnings takes place Saturday, September 5 at Friedman Park in Newburgh.

LOOK: These Photos Show Why ’70s Cars Were Something Special (and Obviously Better)

Big, bold, and built different — these ’70s cars looked and felt like nothing on the road today. Take a ride back and see them in their prime. [And we did our best to identify the models and dates, so if we got it wrong, gearheads, don’t come after us!]
