Illinois Lake Lets You Take Sweet Dives to Explore Shipwrecks
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you probably have a list of things you'd like to do in your lifetime. If your bucket list includes diving to explore shipwrecks, there's a lake in Illinois that can make that happen.
Have you ever heard of Pearl Lake? It's near South Beloit in Illinois and is so close to Wisconsin, you can probably smell the cheese there. I will admit that I don't get to this extreme northern part of Illinois very often, but I saw it mentioned by Only In Your State.
So tell me about the scuba diving opportunities at this Illinois lake
Pearl Lake apparently offers scuba diving where you can explore real shipwrecks. You had me at hello.
One interesting aspect of this Illinois scuba diving experience is that you don't need to be Jacque Cousteau or anyone that would need to be considered a diving expert to do this. The article mentions that most dives to the submerged vessels are only 20 to 45 feet down. Sweet.
