These wacky state laws that still hang around in the books, never stop blowing my mind! Here's one that leaves so many questions unanswered.
It is illegal in Illinois to give a lit cigar to a pet. OK, so I know that some dogs can get pretty crazy begging for whatever you are eating, but does Fido really want a puff? I doubt it!
As bizarre as this law is, the funny part is HOW did they come up with this? At some point something HAD TO HAPPEN to make this law get put in place, right? Was there actually people giving their pets "lit cigars?" Were there cats strutting around with a cigar in their mouths toking away? C'mon man...
There was a time, where government determined that this law had to be put in place. Maybe a Chinchilla or a Bearded Dragon was chomping on a cigar and a fire started?
Let's hope that 2023 brings with it some new meaningful laws for the state of Illinois and finally some of this weird ones being erased. Although they are fun to talk about!
