It’s An All Corners Of The Map Weekend – Eric’s Top 5 State Songs [VIDEOS]
99.5 WKDQ is always giving you big ways to win and coming soon you'll be able to choose one of five destinations on all corners of the US map, if you are our big winner, but you have to be a WKDQ Country Club Member. To celebrate, all this weekend, we're taking you around the country with songs that mention states, cities, and places around the great USA.
I've decided to make my choices of the 5 best state songs and here they are.
5) Kentucky Rain - Elvis
I'm a Kentucky boy through and through and I love me some Elvis, so this one had to make the cut.
4) Texas Tornado - Tracy Lawrence
Tracy Lawrence has always been one of my favorite country artists, and this ballad tops my list of 'Texas' songs by far
3) Old Alabama - Brad Paisley with Alabama
Brad Paisley is a master songwriter. Anybody can write a song with someone else's song titles in it, but Brad found a way to merge his new song with an Alabama classic and that's awesome!
2) Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man - Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn
Anything Conway does is great, but pair him with Loretta and it just gets better. Nothin' can beat this story about love struck kids that are kept a part by a big ol river!
1) The Devil Went Down To Georgia - Charlie Daniels Band
This may have been the first or second country song I ever heard, and I love it to this day. There's a lot of songs about Georgia, but none of them can touch the fiddle king!
