Indiana’s Oldest Restaurant Will Be Temporarily Closed During the Month of January
The Log Inn will be taking a well-deserved break in January. Here are their holiday hours and information.
Indiana's Oldest Restaurant
The Log Inn was built in 1825 and when it opened it was the Noon Day Stage Coach Stop and Trading post. These days it's now known as The Log Inn, and you can even dine in the same log room that Abraham Lincoln visited in 1844.
At almost 200 years old (198 years this year to be exact) The Log Inn has officially been recognized as the oldest restaurant in the state of Indiana. The Log Inn is also well known for its delicious fried chicken and family-style dinners.
A Family Tradition
Like many families in the Tri-State area, The Log Inn is a place where my family has gone to celebrate many big events over the years. From birthdays to graduations, and engagements, my family has gone to The Log Inn several times to enjoy a delicious family-style meal and celebrate fun occasions. The Log Inn isn't just a restaurant, where you go to eat fried chicken, it's a whole experience of enjoying a family-style meal with loved ones (and as a bonus, it's a family-style meal you don't have to cook)!
The Log Inn Will Be Temporarily Closed
Every January The Log Inn takes a well-deserved break from serving Tri-State families and uses the downtime to catch up on tasks and updates the restaurant may need. The restaurant will reopen on February 2nd, 2024.
According to a post on The Log Inn's Facebook page, as well as Fingers, Fork, Knife, & Spoon Evansville, The Log Inn will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but will reopen on December 26th and be serving the Tri-State until December 30th. After that they will close up for a month. So if you have been craving The Log Inn, you'll want to get it soon or else you'll have to wait until February.
