Indianapolis Could Host 2025 Royal Rumble, Future WrestleMania and SummerSlam
Indiana WWE fans, it appears that we are on the verge of finally getting three major events coming to Indianapolis in the near future.
The WWE has been on fire lately. Breaking box office records, and putting on some of the best shows we have seen in years. Many people have claimed that this new era, under the rule of Triple H, is very similar to the success that the company saw back in the 90s during the "Attitude Era." As a lifelong member of the WWE Universe, I love everything that is going on with Raw, SmackDown, and NXT as of late. However, as a Hoosier, I have been hoping that Indiana would play host to more of WWE's biggest events of the year. According to reports, it looks like it might become a reality starting in 2025.
Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and SummerSlam Coming to Indiana?
When the WWE came to Indianapolis in October 2023 for "Fastlane", former Indianapolis Colts Punter Pat McAfee (who is now a commentator on Raw) told the crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse that Indy deserved another WrestleMania. I for one, couldn't have agreed more. The last time that WrestleMania was in Indianapolis, was in 1992, when more than 62,000 people piled into the Hoosier Dome. The city hosted Summerslam in 2008. However, Indy has never hosted a Royal Rumble. According to recent reports, Indianapolis is on the verge of getting all three events in the near future!
WrestleVotes reported WWE and Indiana Sports Corp are close to completing a deal for Indianapolis to host the 2025 Royal Rumble at Lucas Oil Stadium. However, the exciting news doesn't end there. A future Wrestlemania and Summerslam would come to the home of the Colts too. This is HUGE news!
I don't know about you, but if (and when) these events come to Indianapolis, you can bet that I'll be in attendance. I have been to all three events over the years, and they were some of the best times I have ever had. There's no way I would miss three of the biggest events that the WWE puts on each year in my home state. Thank you Pat McAfee for being, not only one of the best things about watching WWE now, but for being influential to bringing these major events to Indiana. LET'S GO!!!
