This breakdown says we could be in for anything from a boring weather day to a full-blown "sky tantrum."  I will also be referring to storms as "sky tantrums" from now on.

Severe Weather in Indiana

We are no strangers to severe weather in the Hoosier State.. Spring and fall are two seasons well-known for producing severe weather, and we are right in the thick of springtime now.  So far, 2025 has been off to a rough start weather-wise, and we've already seen more than 40 confirmed tornadoes.   Unfortunately, there is more potential for severe weather tomorrow (Tuesday, April 29th).

Below is the latest hazardous weather outlook from the NWS as of 4 AM on April 28th:

A few severe storms cannot be ruled out, especially Tuesday afternoon and evening.  Damaging winds and large hail would be the primary concerns.  In addition, localized heavy rainfall could lead to some nuisance flooding problems throughout the period.

I appreciate that the NWS is short and to the point.  However, one popular weather account on Facebook shared what just might be the funniest weather forecast I've ever read.

Facebook Page Shares Epic Indiana Weather Updates

Indiana Storm Chasers is a group of folks who share weather forecasts,  safety preparedness information, and the thrill of storm chasing on Facebook.  They are based out of Northern Indiana, but share weather updates from all across the state. These forecasts aren't your mama's regular old weather forecasts, these might just be some of the funniest severe weather updates I've ever read!

Caffeinated Chaos and a Potential Sky Tantrum on the Horizon

When talking about the potential for severe weather for Tuesday April 29th,Indiana Storm Chasers said, depending on weather conditions today, we could see a whole lot of something or a whole lot of nothing.

Oh honey, Tuesday's out here loading herself up with caffeine and bad decisions. Were she not wanting to wreck your homes, we could be besties!
Full sun + full heat = a whole lotta boom boom potential.
CAPE (Convective Available Potential Energy aka Celsius for storms) is stacked higher than your grandma’s Tupperware cabinet.
BUT... if leftover cloud gunk from Monday night sticks around?
Game over. Storms might just sit there and cry in the club and never reach their true potential.
If not?
Buckle. UP.

They end the forecast by saying that overall, we could see a rather disappointing severe weather day (which is a good thing) or we just might see the sky turn into a massive toddler.
"Anything from a massive disappointment (just like your prom date) to an epic sky tantrum."
I will now be calling storms "sky tantrums" from this point forward.  You can check out Indiana Storm Chasers on Facebook for the latest entertaining updates on this system.  Be sure to also keep an eye on local weather from our friends at Eyewitness News and the National Weather Service as well.  Stay prepared, and stay safe!
