Indiana Now Has a Dinosaur Museum and It’s Huge!
You can step back in time to when dinosaurs walked the Earth without even leaving the Hoosier State.
Dinosaurs
It doesn't matter whether you're a kid or a kid at heart, I feel like everyone gets a little giddy when the topic of dinosaurs comes up. I mean, I'm an adult, and I still struggle to wrap my brain around the fact that once upon a time these massive creatures roamed the Earth. There's a new museum in Indiana that was started by an actual paleontologist, and it's all about showcasing these mammoth animals in an educational and entertaining way.
The Indiana Dinosaur Museum
Located in South Bend, Indiana is a unique museum, unlike anything else in the Hoosier State, a dinosaur museum. According to an interview with WTHR, we learn that the owner, Mark is a Paleontologist. In his interview, Mark says that and he said he wanted to create a place where science and fun could come together.
According to the Indiana Dinosaur Museum website:
When you visit, you will be introduced to some creatures that haven’t seen the light of day for 70 million years. You’ll also see the exhibits through the lens of the 21st century. Instagrammable, understandable, and fun. We want you to come face-to-face with the past.
There are several different exhibits throughout the museum where you will come face to face with these colossal creatures from the past. What peaked my interest is that among the exhibits is the Paleontology Lab where you can watch live demonstrations.
Watch us prep a dinosaur exposed from rock right in front of you.
You will also get a glimpse of preserved dinosaur skin. The Indiana Dinosaur Museum is a non-profit and seems worth the visit. If you'd like to learn more you can check out the Indiana Dinosaur Museum website, here.
