These Hooters Locations in Indiana Have Abruptly Closed
The Hooters restaurant chain, known for its (wings?), has announced closures in several states.
I'll be honest, I've never been to a Hooters, but I hear it's a real "hoot." (I'll see myself out.) The brand has been around for over 40 years and prides itself on their bar food, cold beer, sports, and, yes, their "Hooters Girls." According to the company's website, the chain was started by six businessmen with no restaurant experience who wanted to open a place they couldn’t get kicked out of (???). After a few decades, the Hooters brand now has over 400 restaurants in 29 countries. However, that number is now dwindling.
WTHR reported that there are currently 41 Hooters locations across the United States listed as permanently closed on Google. The report noted that the chain cited pressure from current market conditions as the reason behind the closures. The brick-and-mortar locales affected include stores in 14 states, with Texas taking the brunt of the hit. So far, the chain has closed 16 stores in the Lone Star State. Indiana was not immune to widespread shutdowns, with the following Hoosier locations now closed:
- Castleton: 6426 E 82nd St
- Clarksville: 941 E Lewis and Clark Pkwy

Two Kentucky Hooters have also closed, one on Dixie Highway in Louisville and the other in Richmond at the 241 Eastern Bypass. Additionally, a Springfield, Illinois, locale has also shuttered. Despite the latest news, the chain told WTHR that the brand remains "resilient and relevant" and that they look forward to serving customers at home and abroad.
