High School football is at a fever pitch here in the Tri-State and right here we have Castle and Mater Dei making serious challenges for state titles. Thursday night in Washington State, it was all about Central Valley High School kicker Austin Rehkow who booted a 67-yard field goal to force overtime against rival Spokane Shadle Park. Rehkow's team was trailing 52-55 with almost no time on the clock and a field goal was there only hope. Rehkow drilled it from his own 43 yard-line to tie the game at 55.

Central Valley went on to win the game 62-55 and by the way, Rehkow had kicked a few 63-yard field goals in practice. This field goal is a record for Washington State and is the second longest in national history behind a 68-yard field goal that was kicked in 1985. The NFL record is only 63 yards which has been done by four players....Tom Dempsey, Sebastian Janikowski, Jason Elam and David Akers. See this historic below..incredible.
