Every day, the men and women of local law enforcement put on their uniforms, their bulletproof vests, and their badges to hit the streets and protect us from the dangers of the world, often with little to no thanks. Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church is giving you the chance to change that this Saturday during their annual "Thank a Police Officer" event.

The family-friendly event runs from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Church, is free to attend, and will feature Henderson law enforcement on site so you can take a moment to thank them for their work, and chat about whatever is on your mind. There will also be snow cones and cotton candy for sale, as well as a silent auction featuring a variety of items.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Henderson Fraternal Order of Police (F.O.P.)  which they will use help more kids at Christmas with their "Shop with a Cop" program.
