We're all familiar with the concept of paying it forward, and you may have even done it yourself sometime - maybe paying for someone's food in the drive-thru line. Paying it forward is really all about recognizing how blessed you are and then doing something for someone else so they can feel blessed too. The Children's Museum of Evansville (cMoe) is using that same asking the community to "Play" It Forward, using the same philosophy.

cMoe recently announced the Play It Forward Capital Campaign with a goal of raising $6.5 million dollars to build a new mobile museum and outdoor exhibit on the rooftop. The museum will also use these funds for some much-needed refreshing and redesigning of the water play area, theater, and other exhibits.

This is a lofty goal, to say the least, but the good news is that cMoe is well on its way to reaching that number. For the past ten months, the museum has been meeting with donors and has been able to secure more than $4 million. This is the largest, most significant fundraising effort in the museum’s history. Now, cMOe needs the rest of us to help get to the finish line.

Stephanie Terry is the museum's Executive Director and this is what she had to say...

We are thrilled with the success of the private phase of this fundraising campaign. It demonstrates the incredible commitment of our supporters to the growth and development of our children. But we still have a ways to go. We are counting on our community to help us raise two and a half million dollars to bring our vision to reality.

The Children's Museum will unveil designs of the new play spaces during a Play It Forward kick-off event on Thursday, September 28th.
