All Makes And Models are Available at the VHS!

The Vanderburgh Humane Society (VHS) in Evansville has pets of all shapes and sizes. Or, as Executive Director, Kendall Paul likes to say when she stops by the studio on Thursdays, "all makes and models, and all certified pre-owned." They also have them in all ages, from puppies and kittens that are weeks old to dogs and cats who have been around awhile. So there is a very good likelihood that the VHS will have a pet that fits your lifestyle! Each week we feature a pet of the week with the VHS, and this week we've got a dog who "hits the nail on the head" when it comes to being a sweet boy, Hammer.

Meet Hammer

Hammer is a two-year-old beagle who is currently at the VHS.  He is a sweet boy who loves to play, his only downfall is that he is currently heartworm-positive.  However, don't let the heartworms scare you away, the VHS is covering all of Hammer's treatments, so if you adopt him, you just have to take him back to the VHS until all of his treatments are complete.  This is completely covered thanks to folks who donate to the humane society.

Here's what the VHS has to say about Hammer.

Meet Hammer–Whoever said that beagles make excellent family dogs hit the nail right on the head! This two-year-old beagle boy is sweet, seems to be mostly housebroken, knows how to sit, and is a nice mix of affectionate and independent. His nose gets him carried away on adventures sometimes, but you’ll have that with hounds. Hammer is heartworm positive, but his treatment is included for free in his $200 adoption fee (which also includes his neuter, microchip and up-to-date shots!) Apply for him at vhslifesaver.org
