People ask me all the time how to write a song. I have never personally written one, but I know a lot of people who have. I can now give you the answer thanks to 96-year-old Fred Stobaugh...look no further than your heart and just write what you are feeling, which is exactly what Fred did to honor his late wife of 73 years. In all my years in this business, I have NEVER heard something that moved me more than this. This is the greatest love song I have ever heard, period.

After losing his wife, Lorraine, Stobaugh said he was sitting in his front room thinking of Lorraine and their life together. He began writing and says it just all came out so easily.

Stobaugh says he has no singing ability at all, but he read an ad about a contest for singer-songwriters sponsored by Green Shoe Studio in Illinois and submitted his song. The guys at Green Shoe were so moved by what Stobaugh had written, they produced the song for him, including a short film called 'A Letter from Fred'.

Again, I have never been more blown away by a song than I am by this one. I have actual tears in my eyes as I write this because in my opinion, Stobaugh has captured the essence of true love better than any writer I know of. The song they made for Stobaugh is pure magic. Thank you Fred, for the most beautiful song I personally have ever heard. Watch below, you'll be glad you did.
