Neighbors Sports Bar is causing quite the stir.  They have announced a firm stance on proper pizza-cutting techniques that has the pizza community divided. How do you like it sliced?

Tri-State Pizza Places

In the Tri-State area, we are no strangers the pizza places.  Our area is well known for the "una-style" pizza which is a cracker crust pizza.  While Chicago may have its deep dish, our area has the thin crust.  But what's the best way to cut a thin-crust pizza?  Most places cut pizzas differently depending on the thickness of the crust.

Typically (in our area at least, I cannot speak for other regions), thin crust pizza will be cut into squares, but thicker crust pizza will be cut into triangles. Now that isn't always the case, and I recently learned that some people have a very strong opinion on the cut of their pizza

Neighbors said they will now be slicing their pizzas into triangles as triangles are more structurally sound.

ANNOUNCEMENT: After careful consideration, we are proud to announce that our pizza will now be cut in triangles instead of squares. As you may know, triangles are structurally much stronger than squares. This announcement comes on $10 one-topping pizza day as well!

Personally, I've never really cared how my pizza was cut, as long as it is served warm and properly cheesed, I am a happy camper.  The comments on the post have me cracking up, people do not mess around when it comes to the way their pizza is sliced.  Here are a few comments from the post that made me laugh:

  • Cory EdwardsTeam Triangles forever! #Blessed
  • Thomas Phelps: Are we (the general public) still allowed to order the square cut? My office is in an uproar about this and I am trying my best to keep them together today. Thank in advance and I really hope you have a blessed day.
  • Marissa WestIt's hip to be square
  • Josh Stone: Pizza is a pie and should be sliced as such!! Great move!! Pizza joints with tavern cut automatically get 1 point deduction in my Yelp reviews!

So what do you think? Is Neighbors making the right move?  Are triangular slices the proper way to eat pizza, or are you team square slice?
