13 Years of Art in Evansville

Spring Funk in the City Art Festival is an annual tradition in beautiful downtown Evansville's Haynie's Corner in the Art District and if my math is correct, this is the thirteenth year for the event.

What to Expect at Funk in the City

This great annual event features wares from artists and crafters from all over the region. You will be able to find art created from just about every medium imaginable. One of my most favorite pieces from a Funk in the City event long ago is a watercolor portrait of my daughter that was painted on the spot that day.

Where is Funk in the City?

Funk in the City takes place at Evansville's Haynie's Corner. The historic neighborhood prides itself on being the city's hub for creativity and inclusivity and regularly hosts community events in its streets. The heart of Haynie's Corner, the fountain, can be found at the intersection of 2nd Street and Adams Avenue.

When Does Funk in the City Take Place?

The annual Spring Funk in the City will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023. The event will span seven hours from 10 am until 5 pm.

How Many Vendors Will Be at Funk in the City?

The art festival typically has nearly 70 vendors lining the streets of Haynie's Corner offering art, jewelry, crafts, and more.

What Else Can I Expect?

In addition to the vendors, Funk in the City will feature delicious food from area food trucks, along with live music as well. This is a rain-or-shine event, so be sure you bring your umbrella if it calls for rain. Learn more at the official Facebook event page.
