Indiana is full of some seriously gorgeous state parks. According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, there are 24 state parks in the Hoosier state, which means there is plenty to see and do throughout the state.

The Indiana DNR has several events welcoming the return of the outdoor recreation season, happening all across the state this weekend.  The events include free admission to state parks on May 4th.

Celebrate the start of the outdoor recreation season with free admission to all Indiana State Parks properties on Sunday, May 4, the second day of Welcome Weekend and the opening day of Visit Indiana Week.

“We’re excited to welcome back longtime visitors, and we also warmly invite anyone who’s never visited,” said Ginger Murphy, deputy director of Indiana State Parks.

Find an Indiana State Parks property and what’s new there at on.IN.gov/stateparks. If you’ve never visited, on.IN.gov/dnr-welcome offers helpful tips.
