If I've said it one, I've said it a thousand times....be careful what you put on Facebook because it could get you in trouble as one Florida mother found out the hard way. Ashley Habat dropped her 4-year-old son off at pre-school a little late on picture day. Habat told the school she didn't feel like they gave enough notice about picture day. The school told her that they put the notice in the child's folder the week before.

Habat was not happy and like so many others, vented her frustration on her Facebook page saying, "Why is it that every single day, there is something new I dislike about Will's School? Are my standards really too high, or are people working in the education field really just that ignorant."

Habat tagged the school in her post and the school responded by expelling her son from the pre-school, saying they did not appreciate her questioning the integrity of the school and the intelligence of the staff.

I think expelling the kid for something he had no control over is a bit excessive, but the pre-school had every right to respond as they did, which is why you have to be careful with what you put on Facebook. Habat had every right to say what she said, just as the school had every right to do what they did.

This is where the idea of free speech gets muddled. We all have the right to say whatever we want, but sometimes those words could and often do carry consequences. My daughter sometimes puts things on her Facebook page that were written with pure emotion and sometimes it gets her into trouble. I have pleaded with her not to do this.

The moral of the story is be careful what you choose to post, it could cost you.
