Welcome to fall! Today is the annual autumnal equinox and the first day of fall when the sun is directly above the equator. By the time you are reading this it will probably be in place. Scientifically it means we will have 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. From today on you'll get a little less daylight each day here in the northern hemisphere. Things get a little more confusing on November 3 when we "fall back" as daylight savings time ends. In the meantime get the chili cooking and break out the pumpkin spice. Oh yes, and for you folks running Walmart--get the Christmas stuff out because it's almost Halloween!
